The Giant Vault is animated by copper-rimmed escalators and views out into the gardens towards the sea and city. The contrast between light wells with suspended copper-cased-glass drop lifts and the natural pattern of Carrara marble - a sober triangular geometric repeat pattern - dominates the interior design of the space, accentuated by light and a range of materials and fittings.
These include brass, wooden paneling, carpeting, stainless steel, mosaic tiles, planes and fountains. Internally, the architecture of the walls, floors and open spaces combine to create minimalist interiors. Clean lines and planes, modern construction and technology evoke the minimalist culture of the desert that is reflected in the vacuum of empty spaces. To complement this, the choice of modern European furniture is elegant and simple in scale, fabric and size.
The choice of quality, color and style, in both the carpeting and furniture, verges on the understated, functional and modest, leaving the overall spaces free from any opulent, elaborate and superficially applied decorative features.
This lends an unusual Spartan atmosphere to the interior spaces of the main club building. The architects were involved in the interior design of the main club building only. The accommodation, although it follows the interior design of the architects, was furnished separately with baroque overtones and pastel colors.
